Europe’s leading energy industry show
E-world, which is scheduled to take place in Essen for the eleventh time in 2011, is the leading European tradeshow for the energy and water industry. It serves as a communication forum for the power supply industry, public utilities, industrial consumers, municipalities and service providers and provides them with an opportunity to actively establish new business relationships right on site, to systematically maintain existing customer contacts, to be part of the tradeshow itself and to make business deals. The energy trade show places a special focus on the fields of sales and supply, trade and marketing. But such new topics as energy efficiency and the smart home are also highlighted and discussed by different exhibitors and tradeshow organizers each year.

E-world Conference as the competence forum of the European energy industry
Along with the tradeshow itself, E-world conferences take place each year. As a rule, more than 30 conferences and workshops featuring high-profile speakers are held to keep the participants up to date on current market trends, challenges facing the electricity and gas industry, future energies and legal issues.
Internationalization
Even though many international exhibitors and tradeshow visitors from abroad already participate in E-world each year, the tradeshow organizers constantly try to increase this number. As a result, in cooperation with the Essen business promotion company, the “Day of the Consulates” took place for the first time in 2009, during which the representatives of 18 countries obtained information on energy policy and energy-related topics and took part in a group tour of the fair site. In this context, Matchmaking is an offer that is also used increasingly frequently each year. It offers visitors and exhibitors alike the opportunity to meet each other on a neutral activity platform to establish additional contacts with potential business partners.
